A 22 YEAR OLD MILWAUKEE WOMAN DIES AFTER A 16 YEAR OLD CRASHED A STOLEN VEHICLE INTO A UBER ON MARCH 22, 2019.
Dear Tory Lowe
On March 22, 2019 at approximately 1:30 am, there was a terrible accident on 21st and Orchard, Between an Uber and a stolen vehicle driven by minors trying to flee from the police. This caused the death of the beloved Cristian Marlyn Hernandez, at just 22 years of age. In the Uber there was also a friend of Marlyn’s who flew out of the car onto the sidewalk. The Uber driver suffered broken ribs, and cuts.
This situation has the whole community in shock, it could have been anyone of us. The driver in the stolen vehicle could face up to only 9 years; which we all find unfair. Minors stealing vehicles is a huge problem in Milwaukee and all of these kids only receive a slap on the wrist. There needs to be a set example for everyone committing these type of crimes, where the law should be enforced to prevent this from happening again. This has to stop. These criminals should pay for what they did.
The Hernandez family will not get their daughter/sister back. They deserve JUSTICE. She was being responsible by taking an Uber, being at the wrong place, wrong time took her life. 9 years is not enough for someone who took a innocent life from their family. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. We want justice for Marlyn, her family and the parties involved. Enough is enough
Sincerely
Liz Dayanne
